Lab Engineer

Description:

Manage day-to-day operations of the laboratory activities at In-Q-Tel including but not limited to network configuration; loading, unloading, and modifications of software; hardware modifications, general operations and maintenance; and scheduling demonstrations and evaluations.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform hands-on integration of new tools, applications, and other software and hardware into the laboratory infrastructure for demonstration and evaluation purposes. Debug problems associated with application integration with other applications and/or data sources within the laboratory architecture.
  • Build demonstrations of In-Q-Tel portfolio company software for presentation to potential customers within the Agency.
  • Execute and/or assist with the execution of test and evaluations of new technologies hosted in the laboratory environment. Work with the appropriate personnel to perform the analysis and reporting of results of associated tests and evaluations.
  • Prepare and execute experimental designs and statistical analysis of tests and evaluations to be performed in the laboratory.
  • Perform data collection and analysis and write conclusions/reports of the evaluations.
  • Perform integration of In-Q-Tel portfolio company solutions into In-Q-Tel’s business network to support and optimize organizational processes.
  • Participate in government planning sessions, cross-agency working groups, and other forums as appropriate to coordinate laboratory activities with other community laboratory activities.

  • Class Library Development
  • Windows Development
  • Web Development
  • Database Development
  • Application Integration Middleware (eg; CORBA, DCOM, .Net, etc.)
  • Experimental design experience
