Member of Technical Staff, Digital Security and Identity

Description:

This position is responsible for providing thought leadership in the field of Digital Security & Identity and reports to the Vice President of the Information and Communications Technology Practice.  He or she will serve as a trusted advisor to IQT’s partners in the Intelligence Community and will be responsible for advocating technological innovation where valuable. The successful candidate will have the ability to provide practical advice regarding security technologies and issues related to social media, online privacy, fraud analytics, alternate payment systems, mobile devices and the consumerization of information technologies.  

  • How can enterprises and individuals recognize and manage risks associated with today’s digitally enabled world?
  • What impact are significant IT trends having on security, including the increasingly large amount of sensitive data being processed by mobile users and outsourced service providers? 
  • How can enterprises use novel datasets, algorithms and technologies to manage risk better?

The individual is responsible for applying deep technical expertise and an appreciation for emerging technology trends to the search for and investment in qualified venture-backed startups.  A consultative approach and the prioritization of IQT Customer needs are key determinants for success. 

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to IQT Customers:
    • Grow and maintain an appreciation and understanding for unique customer challenges.
    • Develop personal relationships across IQT partner agencies.
    • Continuously build on a pre-existing digital security background to ensure value as a recognized “expert” in several sectors.
  • Provide thought leadership.  Advocate adoption of innovative technology:
    • Evaluate technologies for impact and relevance to IQT’s partners’ missions.
    • Formulate strategic technology recommendations. 
    • Assess competitive landscape in a given technical field and meet with companies that offer compelling technologies. 
  • Support strategic investments and solution transfer:
    • Define and implement work programs to maximize value of commercial technologies for IQT Customers.
    • Envision, plan, and support technology transfer activities including piloting.
    • Work with a range of internal teams, in a self-directed manner, throughout the technology adoption lifecycle.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess all of the following:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar technical area; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Capability to analyze complex problems and technologies, generating a concise summary of analysis, and presenting recommendations for non-technical audiences.
  • Knowledge of practical issues associated with systems engineering, network security and engineering, and identity management.
  • Direct experience evaluating, developing and deploying technologies for the Intelligence Community including satisfying field operations requirements, and familiarizing non-technical people with technical capabilities.
  • Start-up or entrepreneurial experience and proven ability to thrive in a non-traditional, entrepreneurial environment.
  • A proven track record of superior achievement, with demonstrable capacity to excel in a fast-paced yet collegial environment.
  • Must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; prefer candidates with active top secret (TS/SCI) clearance.
