Program Manager, Physical and Biological Technologies Practice

This is an exempt position reporting to the Vice President of the Physical & Biological Technologies Practice.  The individual in this role is responsible for maintaining the priorities, requirements and program definition for IQT programs/projects.  He/she receives a statement of requirements for each program and in conjunction with other IQT elements is responsible for organizing the project, resolving resource and other conflicts, and bringing the project to a successful conclusion. The incumbent works with the staff of portfolio companies, IQT partner contacts as well as various IQT teams.   Effective program management requires close interaction and coordination with customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze requirements, define and review deliverables, contribute to program strategies and manage multiple simultaneous project lifecycles in their entirety.
  • Work with integrated program and program schedules, technical staff and customers to ensure that projects remain current and reflect the dynamic needs of the business.
  • Exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Work with program priorities, communicate these priorities with management and customers.
  • Develop relationships with customers and provide them with technical and analytical information.
  • Work with multiple other organizations to create and oversee high-level program schedules that incorporate all aspects of product development.
  • Maintain product development program plans by working with the customer and technical team to identify tasks and interdependencies, allocate resources, and establish key milestones.
  • Coordinate contract and internal program resources, including a proven ability to work directly with internal teams in a self-directed manner from the onboarding of a portfolio company/customer through testing/prototyping/adoption.
  • Participate in the authoring of Statements of Work (SOW’s).

Qualifications:

  • BA or BS in a technical field is required; post-graduate degree preferred
  • 2-5 years experience in program and/or project management, with some portion of that time involving customer management.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a non-traditional, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Familiarity and comfort with contract language a plus.
  • Prefer candidates with active top secret clearance or must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
