Technical Recruiter

Description:
Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the technical recruiter is responsible for executing on IQT’s staffing strategy.  This will involve proactively collecting requirements, offering solutions, drafting job descriptions, crafting creative recruiting strategies, managing candidate/departmental expectations, and negotiating deliverables.  The Technical Recruiter will oversee all activities involved in the hiring of personnel, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and presenting qualified candidates for permanent positions.  He/she will provide regular progress updates to hiring managers throughout the process, solicit feedback on candidates, and refine the recruiting strategy, as needed. In addition, the manager will ensure a positive candidate experience with frequent communication throughout the process, including the sharing of manager feedback after the hiring decision has been made. The recruiting manager will work with the Chief People Officer to create an offer based on the current labor market, extend and negotiate employment offers with candidates, and complete pre-employment processes according to corporate guidelines.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following activities:

  • Building relationships with hiring managers to assist them in planning their recruiting/hiring needs.
  • Developing recruiting strategies designed to identify qualified candidates including searching the internet, scouring job boards, cold-calling, referrals, and networking in industry circles.
  • Maintaining relationships with industry contacts to gain industry knowledge and obtain referrals including representing IQT at job fairs and career fairs, etc.
  • Evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of candidates through screening and interviews.
  • Negotiating wages, benefits, and other terms and conditions of employment with candidates.
  • Overseeing pre-employment steps including reference checks and background/drug tests.
  • Planning, organizing, and leading the new-hire orientation.
  • Maintaining and updating applicant and candidate information and files in an accurate, and organized manner by using the appropriate applicant tracking systems and documentation tools.

Qualifications:
Experience in all of the following areas:

  • A Bachelor's degree business administration, human resources or related field of study.
  • 3-5 years of experience in technical recruitment, specifically working on engineering, scientific, or IT requirements.
  • Experience sourcing candidates through multiple channels including internet sourcing, job boards, cold-calling, referrals, and networking.
  • Availability to work before/after typical office hours as work may demand early morning or evening networking events.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a team including a strong desire to learn and advance in a fast-paced technology-oriented environment.
  • Be capable of using good judgment and discretion to accomplish goals and work requirements.
  • Possess strong written and oral communication skills in English, including a commitment to timely and relevant communication with applicants and hiring managers.
  • Must be proficient with MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, social media, commercial job boards, and applicant tracking databases.
