Description: In-Q-Tel has an opening for a communications/marketing student who wants to apply his or her skills and creativity in a practical setting. This paid internship represents an excellent opportunity for someone interested in gaining hands-on experience in a non-profit environment. The position is located at IQT’s facility in Arlington, Virginia and the candidate must be available to work 20 – 40 hours per week (hours can be flexible depending on availability).

This position requires a resourceful individual with strong organizational abilities and excellent communication skills. Candidates must be enthusiastic, creative, and hardworking. The ideal candidate possesses strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, as well as technical capabilities in graphic design. Experience with cutting-edge technologies and an interest in the government market is a plus.  IQT is a hands-on, do-whatever-it takes type of organization.

Responsibilities will include, but are not be limited to:

  • Developing and maintaining communications collateral, presentation materials, and event resources
  • Assisting with multimedia content production, including website maintenance, presentations, and other applications
  • Providing planning and day-of support for ongoing special events
  • Updating and maintaining technology content and other materials on SharePoint
  • Monitoring/researching key issues
  • Supporting the External Affairs team on other projects as needed

Qualifications:

  • Student or recent graduate with major in Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, or related fields
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Flexible and self-directed team player who is willing to pitch in and offer input as new projects develop 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Experience with SharePoint a plus
