Digital pen that automatically stores, and integrates handwritten data on paper forms and maps into Microsoft™ Office and ArcGIS

Capturx software provides dramatic improvements to government operations through digital pen and paper technology. Capturx software enables GIS maps, forms, and CAD designs to be printed on ordinary paper and marked up with a digital pen, which digitizes the handwriting and integrates the data directly into Microsoft® Office, ArcGIS, and Autodesk products. The digital pen time-and-date stamps records, creating records of observation in the field or in the office. Patented software from Adapx™ turns digital pen and paper technology into an extension of your desktop.

Adapx™ focuses on agencies and teams that collect data in the field and need to quickly share it to improve operations, decision making, and information access. Capturx solutions automate paper-based data collection processes which have traditionally been difficult to automate with mobile computers. Laptops, tablets, and PDAs can be expensive and complicated to support and training. They are also cumbersome for many scenarios due to weight, battery life limitations, a limited keyhole view on large documents such as maps, or due to harsh environmental conditions such as rain and direct sunlight.

Adapx™ was founded in 1999 and is headquartered in Seattle, Washington. In-Q-Tel initially invested in Adapx™ in June 2008. For more information about Adapx™, please visit www.adapx.com.
