Arcxis Biotechnologies
Innovative molecular technology solutions to simplify and expedite sample preparation, enhance detection performance, and provide fully automated process integration
Arcxis Biotechnologies is transforming cumbersome molecular diagnostic techniques through proprietary, disruptive technologies in sample preparation, assay development and systems integration.
The most significant advancements Arcxis will introduce include:
- Fully automated, rapid and reliable sample extraction, purification and amplification
- Maximum DNA/RNA detection accuracy in minutes, rather than hours/days
- Seamless integration of sample preparation and assay performance for rapid turn around and minimal operator error
- Proprietary materials and microfluidics expertise for extreme
cost-efficiency - True multiplex (multiple tests, multiple detection targets-DNA/RNA, proteins) capability
The company’s two primary technology components are prepared for immediate commercialization, and will serve to drive near-term revenue:
Fully automated molecular test sample preparation device (Xisyl)
Dual-action molecular probes (Tentacle Probes), proven to maximize test sensitivity and specificity.
These two technologies represent a “beach head strategy” which will provide more robust performance, efficiency and accuracy to laboratories conducting molecular testing. They also serve as the foundation of the company’s fully integrated, entirely automated, molecular prep/test system “BioPhalanx”.
Arcxis Biotechnologies was funded in 2006 and is located in Pleasanton, California. In-Q-Tel initially invested in Arcxis in February, 2009. For more information about Arcxis Biotechnologies, please visit www.arcxis.com.
