Destineer

Developer and publisher of videogames and 3-D training simulations

Destineer develops and publishes commercial videogames for personal computers and videogame consoles and creates highly realistic, action-oriented training simulations for military and intelligence organizations.

At the heart of Destineer’s business is a principle of dual use: By finding synergies between these two markets early in the development process, the company leverages its investments in cutting-edge technologies and productions to create highly realistic, action-filled virtual worlds at much lower costs than competitors that serve either market independently.

Additionally, Destineer has created its own set of technologies for rendering, artificial intelligence, physics, and networking, unlike most developers, which license needed technologies from third parties. Even by the standards of the lightning-fast progress made in the highly competitive games industry, Destineer’s technologies are among the best in their class for visual realism and authenticity.

Current and potential users of Destineer’s training simulations include America’s military and intelligence communities, homeland security, National Guard units, state and local first responders, and similar organizations throughout NATO.

Destineer released its first commercial console video game, First to Fight, to rave reviews. With artwork and tactics based on a Marine simulator, the game has been heralded for its authenticity and high quality. The Company’s young brand will only grow in prestige with future titles planned for early release on the next generation of consoles.

Destineer was formed in 2001 by its president, Peter Tamte, and is headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In-Q-Tel initially invested in Destineer in December 2004. For more information about Destineer, please visit www.destineerstudios.com.
