FireEye

Botnet protection system

FireEye’s advance cybersecurity enables organizations to protect critical infrastructure, intellectual property and networks against stealth malware and botnet infiltration.  The FireEye Malware Protection System is a next-generation cybersecurity platform featuring the network use of transparent virtual machines to uncover zero-day malware, botnets, and targeted attacks that circumvent today’s intrusion prevention systems, antivirus solutions, and URL filters. FireEye offers network security appliances coupled with a global malware intelligence network to protect against inbound attacks and outbound data exfiltration.

Today’s stealth malware, Trojans and botnets exploit browser-based (“Web 2.0”) applications, mobile computing and social networking to infiltrate enterprise, government, and consumer assets on a massive scale. Malware is embedded into user-generated content websites, PDFs, online search ads and high-traffic Web applications to compromise computer systems and build “callback channels” out of infiltrated networks. The fusion of Web-borne, stealth malware with advanced intrusion and data theft payloads bypass traditional security to expropriate confidential data and resources. FireEye enables cyber “situational awareness” to mitigate these inbound attacks and outbound data compromises. Key features:

  • Inbound and Outbound Threat Detection – At near-zero false positive rates
  • Dynamic, Real-Time Analysis – To capture zero-day, polymorphic attacks on the wire
  • Malware Analysis & Exchange Network – To generate and share malware intelligence amongst a global subscriber base

Founded in 2004 in Silicon Valley, FireEye works with enterprises, services providers, law enforcement agencies, and research institutions, to strengthen cyber defenses against unknown, stealthy attacks. In-Q-Tel initially invested in FireEye in March, 2009.
