VSee
Real-time video communication and collaboration technology
Founded in 2003 with funding from the National Science Foundation, VSee develops video conferencing and application sharing technology enabled for low or limited bandwidth networks. The company’s technology supports high quality 1-to-1 and group video conferencing over the Internet. Its bandwidth requirements range from 80 to 120kbps while more conventional technology requires ~350-400 kbps. Its bandwidth requirements are roughly equivalent to what Skype requires for voice communications. The technology includes a lip-syncing algorithm to deal with network latency. In addition, the technology is secure and compliant with FIPS 140-2.
The company is headquartered in San Jose, California. In-Q-Tel initially invested in VSee in January 2008. For more information, please visit www.vsee.com.
