Huddle today announced that a FISMA (Federal Information Security Management Act of 2002) certified instance of its cloud-based content collaboration platform is being developed for U.S. government agencies and organizations. Thanks to a strategic partnership and technology development agreement with In-Q-Tel (IQT), the non-profit, strategic investment firm that identifies innovative technology solutions to support the missions of the U.S. Intelligence Community, Huddle is developing a version of its platform that enables the U.S. government community to securely discover, access, and work on content with people. The technology is currently being developed for two IQT customer agencies, the Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate (DHS S&T), and the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA).

The partnership with IQT strengthens Huddle’s already impressive government credentials. Enabling information to be securely shared across departments and externally with stakeholders, contractors and partners, Huddle is used by 80 percent of central UK government departments to drive efficiencies and reduce operational costs. The company also secured 89 percent of all spend through the UK government’s G-Cloud framework within the first two months of its launch. Beyond the UK, Huddle is used to improve information management and collaboration in government organizations in Belgium, Italy, Spain, Greenland and Finland.

“Governments worldwide are now placing cloud technology at the heart of their campaigns to increase efficiency and productivity, and reduce IT costs,” said Alastair Mitchell, CEO, Huddle. “As the G-Cloud framework figures show, Huddle is the leading provider of cloud content collaboration for the UK government and has a strong government heritage across Europe. The company has been instrumental in driving government organizations’ shift towards cloud computing and provides the most comprehensive and innovative offering required to support the new ways of working. We’re delighted to be partnering with In-Q-Tel to build an instance of Huddle that will enable us to bring our government and intelligent content collaboration expertise to the U.S. government.”

”We are excited about Huddle’s technology platform and the opportunities for secure collaboration it has the potential to provide for our Intelligence Community customers,” said Robert Ames, Senior Vice President in charge of the Information and Communication Technologies practice at IQT. “We look forward to building upon the company’s ongoing success in both the government and commercial markets.”
